The old fortified castle built by the Marquises Pallavicino in 1320 is a place where love for good food and local produce has always been a distinctive mark. The magnificent cellars are the extraordinary curing and ageing home of ‘salumi’, cheeses, culatello and wines. There you can learn how to make good fresh pasta and excellent cured pork cuts and you can see animals of ancient breed. You can leisurely walk through the vegetable gardens and orchards or discover the charm of the River Po banks, either on foot or by bicycle, and get as far as Busseto, Zibello and Colorno. Antica Corte Pallavicina is also a cultural haven: here art exhibitions, concerts, conferences and historic commemorations are regularly held. The beautifully and carefully appointed rooms are elegant and comfortable with antique furniture, modern fittings and wide bath tubs. In the small restaurant by the river guests will be pampered by the renowned cuisine of Michelin starred chef Massimo Spigaroli.
