Description

Casone Ugolino is an old farm that dates back to 1500 belonged to the Della Gherardesca family. It was intended for the cultivation of tobacco and its drying. In 1823 it was renovated on the occasion of the birth of Ugolino Della Gherardesca (son of the prestigious Count Guido Alberto Della Gherardesca) and was intended to welcome pilgrims who went to Castagneto Carducci. In fact, its position made it a perfect refreshment point at the beginning of the climb towards the town. It is for this reason that it was called the "Port of Land". Its recent restoration took more than ten years of work: a perfect reconstruction of the structure of the time, with materials and craftsmanship that respect the Tuscan building tradition. The structure on the first floor offers carefully restored rooms respecting the original structures and materials: terracotta, wood and iron reconstruct a very refined and harmonious environment. The rooms are equipped with all comforts in the name of authentic luxury and relaxation. You can choose between double rooms, rooms on two levels with large double beds and mezzanines with living room and kitchenette. The surrounding places are suitable for exclusive excursions with E-bikes and unforgettable horseback rides among the olive groves, vineyards and woods that characterize the Bolgheri countryside. The sea is a stone's throw away with miles of pine forests and pristine beaches. In the area you can visit medieval villages rich in history and culture. All accompanied by the aromas and flavors that this special land is able to offer us. The complex includes a restaurant, a pizzeria and a tavern where you can taste the specialties and the local wine authentically at 0 km sensorial experience of wine and food from the time of the Etruscans to today.
