The Nove Merli feudal castle dates back to the middle ages. Initially conceived as a military garrison within the Castellata di Piossasco (which used to be formed by three castles), it was built to control from above the road between Turin and Pinerolo. The current structure is the result of centuries of evolution and the Nove Merli castle can be regarded as a collection of historical, artistic and documental evidence from the middle ages to the present day. In 1994 the current owners began the work to bring back the Castle to its ancient beauty, restoring the halls, the brick vaulted ceilings of the ground floor and basement (the most ancient part of the castle) and the first floor decorated wooden coffered ceilings. Rooms on the second and third floor were converted into bedrooms for the guests. Also the outside was taken care of: a new stone paving was laid, the garden redesigned and work was performed to enhance the terraced vineyards and olive trees. The restoration contributed to highlighting the architectural importance of towers, portals, gates and roads surrounding the Castle. In its present form the Castle is a fabulous location in which to hold all sorts of events. Welcome! In the park of the castle you will find the garden and the terraces, actual open-air lounges. The 360° view ranging from mount Monviso to Turin’s hills, encompassing the Pinerolo region, will make your event even more special. Cocktail parties, buffets, banquets and dinners can be enjoyed outside. In addition to being an ideal setting for wedding photo services, civil marriages may be officiated at the Castle.
